The idea
Doing something “epic” or significant during my sixtieth decade of life was the idea that was born when I learned about and followed the Badlands in 2024.
The project is focused on completing the race in pairs by my 65th birthday. The first attempt is expected to take place in 2027, around the time of my 64th birthday, exactly 3 years from now, which is the estimated time for all the necessary physical and logistical preparation to take place.
To carry out this adventure, I invited Nicolas Marcial Negrão. Nicolas started out as my mechanic of choice, but a friendship quickly developed. He is a cyclist with vast experience in preparation, bikefit and, of course, mechanics.
Nicolas is a pedal enthusiast who believes that the essence of cycling lies precisely in these challenges of long distances and great accumulations, where our physical and psychological abilities are put to the test. The invitation was accepted.
